I say in spanish .....el doctor garcia aguilar no solo es el mejor tambien el tiempo que dedica al paciente lo hace sentir a uno super comodo ademas el tiempo que estuve internado y las visitas posteriores la operacion nos pasamos largo tiempo hablando de futbol y de messi hi is the best

My first visit with Dr Garcia-Aguilar and I felt comfortable with receiving care from him and Gina who I believe was his nurse. I appreciate both of them taking the time to ask a few questions about my past care and discussing my need for a colonoscopy i.e. wanting to know whether I had one then asking why not when I told them that my first MSK oncologist didn't think it was necessary, and wanted to talk about it at some later date. Dr Aguilar took the time to discuss why he would like for me to have the procedure though he stated he could understand why the first oncologist didn't have it done last year since I'm in treatment. Dr Aguilar listened to me, had patience and talked to me instead of at me. He made me feel like he wanted to hear it from me. Gina is fantastic and gave me all the information I needed for my visit including answering all my questions that she could. I think anyone will likely be fortunate to have an appointment with Dr Garcia-Aguilar. The 4th star is for the staff's professionalism and attentive care.

Dr. Garcia-Aguilar is an excellent surgeon in terms of both skills and work ethnics. He does what the general colorectal surgeons could not do. Last December, the doctors at Mount Sinai told us that my father's disease has been worsen and there's nothing else they can do. I did not want to give up because there's no sign the disease has spread to other organs so we went to see Dr. Garcia-Aguilar of Memorial Sloan Kettering for a second opinion. Unlike Dr. Alex Ky of Mount Sinai, Dr. Garcia is knowledgeable and has excellent bedside manners. He arrange all the necessary tests right away and is able to schedule the surgery in just 3 days. That's when we realize my father's tumor was not inoperable. It was only because Dr. Ky and Mount Sinai do not have the skills! Dr. Garcia was able to remove the whole tumor and unlike Dr. Ky, he personally explained the results to us right after the 6-hour surgery. He also comes to visit my father every day throughout his stay in the hospital. I am just sharing my own experience and don't want the other patients made the same mistakes as we did. What I want to point out is getting a different opinion and choosing the right doctor really makes a huge difference in our lives! If you're looking for a cure, Dr. Garcia is your best bet!

It is disheartening to suddenly hear that your loved one is in surgery and not get any calls from Dr. Garcia Aguilar after leaving 3 messages to see what is going on. It seems that calling, leaving messages, texting through a portal and calling the hospital for this doctor does not work. This is extremely bad service when all we are asking for are answers regarding our loved one.

What can you say! Great hospital, detail-oriented, exceptional care team. And Dr. Garcia-Aguilar is a terrific surgeon. Not just his expertise and skill as a surgeon but an exceptional person with excellent bedside manner. Calm, relaxed demeanor. Wouldn't want to be treated by anyone else. He's the best!

What can I say, about the most professional, knowledgeable and genuine physician I have ever had the pleasure of meeting and using in my 71 yrs of living. I have known Dr. Garcia for close to 12 yrs.. He has performed some surgery for me when he was back @ City of Hope. I met him when he headed the Col-rectal dept at UCSF,but at that time my responsibilities got in the way of my having the surgery, but when I had a window of time to attend to my surgery I did not hesitate to get in my car and drive to Pasadena.where the City of Hope is located. I knew he was a very skilled physician and I had an idea that he was a compassionate human being. What I learned was that his skills are superb, his knowledge is on the cutting edge.. his dedication is tireless. and the rarest of all within the medical profession is that he is a real down to earth human who shows his compassion for his patients day in and day out..
I travel on occasion to the east coast and make it a point to visit with him.. There are very few physicians that I would recommend to a friend. but without hesitation, I have and would recommend Dr. Aguilar to anyone facing a serious medical condition that is within his area of expertise.. YOU WILL NOT BE SORRY..

Waited for over a month for a doctor to reach out to me at NYU after my initial diagnosis. I took the initiative of contacting MSK and had the pleasure of having been seen by Dr. Garcia-Aguilar, my procedure was scheduled within 2 weeks. Amazing doctor with wonderful bedside manners. Explained my surgery, saw me everyday while I was admitted and his staff followed up with my progress after my discharge. I'm extremely grateful to him and his staff.
